点评:To accentuate the downtown Reedy River Falls, a 345 foot long and 12-foot-wide pedestrian curved bridge was created in 2004. It was only appropriate to call it “Liberty Bridge” as the community of Greenville is named after the revolutionary hero General Nathanael Greene.
One could argue that the bridge is the “heart and soul” of downtown. Adjacent to the bridge is the beautiful Fall’s Park on the Reedy. My wife described it as being similar to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, Canada.
Seeing the Falls and Bridge at night is a popular activity. Several restaurants are close by such as Passerelle Bistro on the eastern end of the bridge; and Between the Trees on the western end. Don’t overlook going into the Grand Bohemian Lodge which has a number of interesting art pieces and artifacts—free to roam and enjoy.
Just recently, the Stone Cottage, one of the oldest buildings in downtown, has opened up for breakfast and lunch. You can sit on the porch to overlook the bridge and park.
