点评:There is no admission fee nor tickets required, but donations are appreciated. I arrived as they were opening for the day and noticed that there was a 30 min tour offered that morning. I signed up for $10 and got an informative tour that was probably closer to 45 min as the one other person on the tour with me did not have any time constraints either, so our guide extended with additional information. We were also treated to the beautiful sounds of the Philadelphia Orchestra practicing in the Amp adjacent to the gardens during the tour.
I would not have gotten as much out of the visit without the tour. I also purchased several items at the shop including a beautiful folding picture guide of plants and animals in the Vail area.
Sadly the heat and drought have impacted the whole valley including the gardens. They have several water features that are currently turned off and have significant watering restrictions for the plants. However there was still much to enjoy.
There was a scavenger hunt activity (booklet) specifically for children and benches to sit and enjoy the setting. I recommend visiting while you are in Vail.
