Civitavecchia is a confusing port

点评：The whole port experience at Civitavecchia is a mess. I was never able to find a single source to tell me exactly how things work in the port. If you are headed there the easiest way to navigate is to get a driver that has all the various passes to get through the gates to drop you off at your cruise ship. Otherwise you're going to have to navigate a series of hand offs from Trains and buses. This port is not designed to make things easy on the traveler. We got an Uber black on the way to our ship and it was flawless for around $200 Euros. We were not in a hurry on the way out after our cruise was complete so we took the free shuttle to the taxi area. The pictures on their site look NOTHING like what you see. The drop off point was a bunch of taxi and limo vendors barking at you. Ultimately, I just called another Uber Black and it cost the exact same as what everyone else was charging. For peace of mind, it was worth not having to deal with the hassle of this port.
