点评：Located on a patch of land that once was described as "The World's Most Beautiful Farm," Longview Lake is a 930-acre freshwater reservoir in parts of Kansas City, Lee's Summit and Grandview, Missouri, that is situated in the 4,852-acre Longview Lake Park and is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Little Blue River Project for flood control, recreation and fish and wildlife conservation. That's a mouthful but Longview Lake, which opened in 1986 and draws an average of one million visitors a year, is worth all of the time and money that the U.S. Congress put into it. The lake offers a full acre of sand that makes for plenty of room to enjoy the water or sunbathe or participate in beach volleyball. For fishermen, the lake is stocked with a wide variety of species, including bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, carp and channel catfish. Boating enthusiasts have options for power boating, jet skis, kayaking and canoeing while a full-service marina offers concessions, fuel, fishing supplies and slip rental. Meanwhile, the surrounding park presents opportunities for camping, golf, softball, picnicking, biking, hiking, horseback riding, even radio-controlled aircraft flying.
