Tips before you go to Wind Cave NP
Wind Cave National Park的点评
点评：My family and I visited Wind Cave NP in late March and the weather was great. Of course it doesn’t matter what the weather is inside the cave since it is always 56 degrees.
Before you go, make sure to buy tickets ahead of time or you run the risk of not getting a ticket. We were lucky and bought 4 tickets when we arrived. There are only 40 tickets available for the Fairgrounds Tour, 1 of 3 tours at the cave. This tour is about 90 minutes so make sure you have the time. There are a lot of steps inside the cave, and one section you will have to navigate 89 steps at once.
Make sure to wear comfortable shoes since the path inside the cave is all paved. Very little moisture inside so you really don’t have to worry about slipping.
Hopefully you will get Maddy, the volunteer tour guide. She is very knowledgeable and has some great stories to tell during the tour.
We arrived at 11:30 and out tour was at 1 so we had time to burn. We went on the short loop hike just outside the visitor center. Do this hike clockwise. That way, at the end, you go down the stairs, instead of up. Won’t get as tired.
You will see bison all over the park too.
