An Amazing Family Holiday with an Outstanding Driver in Supun

点评：We have just returned from an incredible family holiday in Sri Lanka and I felt compelled to write a review for Sri Lanka Private Driver and, in particular, our driver Supun.
To be completely honest, Sri Lanka was not a destination we had originally chosen ourselves. We were travelling there for my nephew's wedding and decided to extend the trip into a family holiday with our two sons (aged 14 and 12). Looking back now, it exceeded every expectation and has become one of our favourite family holidays.
We spent 10 days travelling around the country after the wedding, visiting Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella, Udawalawe, Weligama and Galle, and having a private driver made the experience effortless.
From the moment we were collected, Supun was professional, friendly and always punctual. Every morning he was ready and waiting exactly when he said he would be. His vehicle was spotless, comfortable, air-conditioned and ideal for a family of four with luggage.
What really made the difference was that Supun wasn't just a driver. He genuinely helped us get the most from our holiday. He constantly suggested small tweaks to our itinerary which improved the trip enormously. These weren't changes for the sake of it, but thoughtful recommendations based on local knowledge, traffic, weather and timings. On several occasions his advice enabled us to see more, avoid crowds or fit in additional sights that we would otherwise have missed.
Throughout the trip he helped organise guides, activities and local experiences. He arranged things smoothly and without fuss, whether that was sightseeing, local attractions or helping us coordinate different parts of our itinerary. He was always thinking about how to make the trip enjoyable for the whole family.
Another thing that stood out was how respectful Supun was of our time. At no point did we feel that he was taking us to places solely because he received commission from shops or attractions, which can sometimes be a concern when travelling. Any stops he suggested genuinely added to the experience and, if anything, often saved us time or improved our day. He always seemed focused on ensuring we got the maximum enjoyment and value from our holiday rather than trying to fill the itinerary with unnecessary stops.
One thing that particularly stood out was how thoughtful and helpful Supun was. While we were in Kandy, my wife was feeling unwell. Supun suggested that a King Coconut would be good to restore her electrolytes. The hotel didn't have any available and they were not easy to find in Kandy, but Supun took it upon himself to track one down for us. It was a small gesture, but it typified the level of care and attention he showed throughout the entire trip.
The highlight for me was how stress-free everything felt. Sri Lanka is a country where travel times can be longer than you expect and there is a lot to see. Having someone experienced alongside us allowed us to simply enjoy the holiday rather than worrying about routes, parking, timings or logistics.
I should also mention the value for money. The cost of having a private driver for the entire trip was exceptional. When I look back at everything that was included, the convenience it provided and the contribution it made to the success of our holiday, it was probably the best value travel expenditure we made.
Sri Lanka itself was an amazing country. The people were incredibly welcoming, the scenery was spectacular and there was far more variety than we expected. But having Supun with us undoubtedly enhanced the experience and helped turn a very good holiday into an outstanding one.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sri Lanka Private Driver, and if you have the opportunity to request Supun, I would do so without hesitation.
