点评：Very nice small city; pop. ca 70,000 (reminded us of Reykjavik). Very safe (crime is illegal there). English widely spoken. Many things to do are all close together on the harbor; easy walks. Good tours to more remote things. Also good, affordable taxis (cheaper and more common than Uber; cab stands; hotels have hotlines to the taxis which come fast) and easy city busses. Not as expensive as we expected; dollar strong there (just a little more than where we live in US, W Mass.). Almost everything paid with credit card (we got some Krone to tip tour guides); some tipping but mostly no tipping. Airport not too far away. Flights and airports in transit (Copenhagen and Oslo) went OK. Nice hotels. Great food (fish esp. and reindeer, including reindeer hot dogs) and breweries (e.g., Mack). Some heated streets and gravel widely used otherwise when icy (shoe crampons still recommended; we had some rain on ice). Above Artic Circle (69 latitude) so some long(!) nights or days, dep. on month -- plan accordingly. But not that cold actually (they are in the Gulf Stream still, like Iceland); March was like W Mass at same time. Nice, happy people (Norway's reputation seems true). Good museum (Polaria). Good N lights tours -- may be very long bus rides though, 1.5 to 3 hrs each way, 4 hr limit (!) to get away from bayside weather to higher ground, often to Finland or Sweden. Beautiful scenery (bay with surrounding hills and mts; good fjord tours too, not so far, and very pleasant). Polar plunges for those into that. We did not try the boats or the nearby cable car (too windy and rainy, cable car closed due to wind); those looked good though. Three tries to see the N lights, again long bus rides, and clouds on two of them, but that one night (w 90 min bus) was spectacular.
