点评:The lesson for our visit to Anza Borrego is to be still and look closely. At first glance, the desert seems boring and nondescript. Thankfully, we went to the visitor center where animated rangers gave us a map with sights to see. At first, we missed the turn off. It's a TINY brown sign on CA route 78 that says Buttes Pass. We drove 2 miles on a sandy road and came to a parking area. We found our way to the slot canyon and it was great! It took us about an hour to walk the two miles round trip (out and back.) It was beautiful, quiet, and required a little athleticism to squeeze through narrow slots and climb over boulders, etc. If you are very overweight, some sections will be hard to get through. One spot on the return was challenging for me; I had to get back up a 4-foot boulder. I let my pride go and my husband helped. We were so glad we found it. It was a really nice hike on a beautiful day. Bring lots of water.
