Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens的点评
点评：This was an overnight stay en route home after visiting family near Newcastle-upon-Tyne. This is not an hotel, but rather a B&B in a mansion. The rooms are simple, clean, warm, and comfy. No TV or phones, but there is a good mobile phone reception.
There is no evening restaurant but a decent pub down the road. Breakfast is cold buffet style with sufficient choice of fruit, cereals, and cold meats and cheese, croissants, or toast.
The staff are very welcoming and helpful. But best of all is the Chapel. You don't have to be religious to appreciate the magnificent beauty of this part of the Ushaw estate. Wow, and wow! Especially beautiful as it was dressed for Christmas when we visited. As we were residents, there was no charge to wander around this remarkable building and its fascinating rooms.
And if that wasn't enough, there was a used book shop selling popular genre.
It's a great find and a fascinating one too.
