Large gardens, near the Port, worth a walk around
Scarborough Botanical Garden的点评
点评：Friday 13th February we visited these Botanical Gardens in heart of Scarborough. They are located a short walk, roughly 550 metres, from the Cruise Port.
We entered the Gardens through a small rusty gateway off Gardenside Street.
The sprawling Gardens cover roughly 17 to 18 acres and they were once part of a former sugar estate.
We took a stroll around a section of Gardens and a series of pathways which crisis crossed the Gardens led us from one side to another.
The was a large section of the Gardens devoted to lawn which was populated with clumps various tropical trees, palms and colourful bushes. There were also a number of old tall trees with sprawling gnarly trunks.
One of the most colourful features in the Gardens is the plastic bottle, reviewed separately, towards the centre of the Gardens
As we walked around the Gardens we came across a lady sitting on a bench, as we walked by she called us over. She told us that she was a "Tourism Official", she was wearing a lanyard with some badge attched. She asked us some questions like where we were from from etc.
She asked us to sign a visitors book and to then leave a comment about the Gardens, which we did. We were the asked for a contribution towards the upkeep of the Gardens we said we had no money on us. She was not impressed with us and let know it.
As we continued walking about we visited the bandstand and stopped here for a brief rest and enjoy some shade. The bandstand did look as it was it need a coat of paint and some remedial work.
