Abusive owner and not dog friendly!

点评：At first glance, the pub looked charming and seemed like the perfect place for us to stop after a walk with our small dog. There was a sign on the door stating that up to two dogs were welcome at any one time. While one of us waited outside with our dog, the other went in to check that it was okay to bring her inside, and the landlady confirmed that it was.
When ordering our drinks—a Prosecco and a pilsner—the landlady suggested that the pilsner was quite sweet and recommended an alternative. We explained that we were familiar with it and were happy with our choice. She was quite pushy and condescending which wasn’t a great start.
We then took our drinks to the small, empty beer garden at the back of the pub. As we were securing our dog's lead to a chair, she was briefly unclipped and spotted a cat, causing her to run towards the back of the pub. We immediately went after her and repeatedly apologised, as we completely understood that this would have been an unexpected surprise.
Unfortunately, the landlady reacted by raising her voice, using offensive language towards us, and telling us that she was frightened of dogs. We remained calm throughout, requested a refund, which was provided, and left. The dog should not have run off, even if it was only for a moment, and we apologised immediately. However, we felt the situation could have been handled in a much calmer and more professional manner. Based on our experience, we would not return or recommend this pub. There was absolutely no need for the vile and abusive language the landlady used. True dog friendly pubs would understand this situation.
