点评:What an awesome experience while visiting family! I gathered up my fondness for Laura Ingalls Wilder and F-Troop and manifested my destiny an hour west of Topeka to Fort Riley, near where the Santa Fe and Oregon Trails converge on the Kansas River (minus any cholera & dysentery outbreaks). The operational "fort" occupies acres & acres adjacent to Marshall Army Airfield, so lots of active duty goings-on. Had to register for a guest pass online with a REAL ID to visit the US Calvary Museum, where I learned A LOT about the role of horses in the US military before being replaced by the JEEP. I even got to watch the changing of command ceremony for the 1st Infantry Division's Band Master and hear God Bless America and Star Spangled Banner (sung). FYI Gen'l & Mrs. Custer were only stationed here 6 months.
This expansive military installation truly requires a couple of days to visit all the museums and watch some helicopters at adjacent Marshall Airfield.

这个广阔的军事设施确实需要几天的时间才能参观完所有的博物馆并观看邻近的马歇尔机场的一些直升机。
