点评:We were on the fence to make an appointment (required) to see this place as we were not sure if we will have time that afternoon after downtown Palm Springs. It is located in a very upscale neighborhood called “Movie Colony,” just around the corner from Frank Sinatra’s former estate. When we arrived, there didn't seem to be an "attraction" per se, no parking lot, no visitor sign. Nothing obvious to us anyway.
So we parked our car on the street. Walked around the exterior of the property and took pictures of the sculptures you could see from the streets. When we were walking back to the car, we were asked if we wanted to tour the place. Of course we wanted to so here we went. Long story short, homeowners in the upscale neighborhood didn't appreciate the nuisance with all the lights and creations by Kenny Irwin (we did meet briefly while touring), it is not zoned to be a fee charging business. Only donations can be accepted.
Spent under 2 hours go through the massive 4 acres display of the weirdest, corkiest, and crazy creations! It is like a junk yard transformed into nutty art work. You could easily spend the whole day here getting lost and look at more "stuff". Some of the art work were simply amazing!! We enjoyed the lake, swimming pool, carnival ride, toilet with microwaves fused together. Pink flamingos. Ronald McDonald, Disney characters. Merry-go-round. Ferris wheel.
Got lost a little bit in the maze. It is truly a place that you need to visit in person to experience!
