点评:After having lunch at Charis Seafoods, it was time to watch the pelicans being fed.
They had already begun gathering for their treats, patiently waiting as if they knew exactly when lunchtime was. The larger ones stood side by side on a slightly raised area, right next to where we were sitting. When the two staff members from Charis arrived with buckets full of fish, the party—and the competition—began.
It was fascinating to watch them catch the fish, often accompanied by a sort of rhythmic “music” created by their bills clacking as they scrambled for the biggest portions.
The usually cranky seagulls also got their share, though a much smaller one.
There was also a beautiful black swan wandering around. Unfortunately, there are still plenty of uneducated people, and a couple of them fed the poor, gorgeous bird French fries.
All in all, it was a very interesting experience and well worth the visit.
