Cafe Mariposa Bed and Breakfast的点评
点评：I visited for Trinidad and Tobago Restaurant Week as a food photographer to capture some meals on their Restaurant Week menu. Being a vegetarian, food enthusiast and a great cook myself, I was blown away by the hearty, flavorful, healthy, very satisfying, creative and energizing meals! I am still talking about their food weeks after and I still get energy from that three course meal.
Marcia modified the cassava based saltfish accra as I do not eat meat. They made sure the vegetarian food is cooked separately in pots/oil that is used to cook the meats. That small attention to detail is just awesome and much appreciated as a vegetarian. I judge a restaurant based on how they consider the vegetarian food/cooking and meals on their menu. Cafe Mariposa is a winner to me! It is one of the best places where vegetarians can eat comfortably and where the food is clean, fresh and excellently made. As a (tiny) person who eats a lot, I can tell you the portion sizes were excellent and very very very very fulling. Most of all, the ingredients are homegrown from the community.
There is a spacious garden and amphitheater area to explore and talk a walk. It is a very family friendly and scenic place that is very relaxing and 100% worth the drive and visit! This semi outdoor cafe is such a gem in Lopinot.
PS I had to take a piece of Mariposa with me so I bought their pommecythere chutney which I eat every day and it takes me back to the hummingbirds and that plantain sandwich meal every time!! My life has not been the same...I will be back soon!
