点评：Firstly, I want to start this review by highlighting the positives: the food and portions at Seniors are absolutely first-class. This has been my go-to spot for fish and chips ever since moving to the area in 2022, and for good reason. The portions are generous, the quality is outstanding, and the midweek deals are fantastic money savers. I truly value supporting local, grassroots businesses like this over high street chains like Domino’s.
However, I do need to address an issue I encountered recently. On my last order, which I placed an hour before closing, the website had stopped taking orders. The only option left was to order through Uber Eats, which dramatically inflated the cost of the food and delivery. Normally, my spend is between £16-£18, with a delivery charge of around £3-£4, bringing the total to roughly £21—a very reasonable amount. However, ordering through Uber Eats pushed the total up to around £31—an increase of approximately £11.
While I understand that delivery drivers may have been unavailable, there really should be a better system in place for customers. Perhaps implementing a clear last order time or a cut-off window for delivery orders would help. That way, customers can make informed decisions and avoid the significant upcharge that comes with Uber Eats.
I won’t deny that this experience left a bit of a sour taste, especially as I’d promised a 6-year-old their favorite fish and chips. While I ultimately had the choice not to order, the lack of clarity and inflated costs made it a frustrating experience.
I have still rated the experience high, even though for my last order this was not the case, I believe in being fair across the board.
Seniors remains an excellent local business, and I would encourage others to support it, but I hope they consider revisiting their ordering and delivery process to avoid situations like this in the future.
