Anchor的点评
点评：We visited the Anchor on a not particularly busy evening, the welcome was warm and friendly as we sat at our reserved table.
It took a fair while to be seen for drinks, we ended up ordering direct from the bar as the wait had already been approximately 20 minutes. Five minutes later our food order was taken. Roll on well over 75 minutes of waiting and ordering bar drinks waiting for our food.
We did enquire a few times and were told it wouldn’t be long. When the food arrived, the lasagna was massively overcooked and we had to ask for a replacement which on a long wait already was disappointing, the pizza we ordered was also a further 10 minutes after the rest of the food.
We were very disappointed in the experience as the rest of the meals were underwhelming including slimy fish and chips.
It is a shame as we have eaten here before and it has always been pleasant but this time was deeply disappointing. The only redemption was that when we paid we were given money off the bill. The staff were friendly throughout but a little honesty would have gone a long way to redeeming further.
