However, we had the big cote de boeuf to share and it was delicious and perfectly cooked and accompanied by a delicious sauce George (a jus aka gravy of lamb and beef dripping). Sadly, the wine choice was limited and the wine we had was not very good and given that we were in France Le George has missed the opportunity to promote and celebrate wonderful French wines. Cocktails were ok but I wouldn’t order another one. We had bread with the meal - it felt and tasted like rolls from Tesco, Lidl or Auchan supermarché heated from frozen. Was crusty freshly baked French bread really not possible and give customers a culinary experience to remember? Breakfast in the morning was just ok. The scrambled eggs were gelatinous…clearly not made from fresh eggs - is it that difficult to make delicious, velvety and buttery scrambled eggs with french beurre to go with a crusty freshly baked baguette?
