点评：This was my second visit to the restaurant at Machynys golf club. It’s a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views. On arrival we were given a menu and shown to our seat. On the menu it advertised a 2005 2 course for £20.05 so we both ordered a starter and main. We ordered the goats cheese with blueberries in panko breadcrumbs, but when it arrived it was missing the blueberries and breadcrumbs. When I questioned this I was told that the dish had been changed but not updated on the menu. I thought this was really unusual but I enjoyed it.
For our main we ordered the steak and sea bass for our mains both dishes were delicious.
The problem arose when we checked the bill as we were charged the full price for the dishes not the advertised deal. I questioned this and was told that we should have asked for the 2005 menu as this was different to the menu we were given. There was nothing to say that there was a different menu so I asked to speak to the manager.
The manager dealt with the issue really well and explained that there were two menus but had been told not to offer the additional menu unless asked.
She understood my understanding of the 2005 deal and apologised, she offered to honour the deal and to charge the advertised price for the 2005 deal.
The 2005 deal needs to be advertised correctly and the dishes if changed need to be updated on the menu immediately.
It’s such a shame as it’s a lovely restaurant but the advertising needs to be clear not to misinform the customers.
Again I would like to say how well the manager dealt with the complaint.
