点评:The Mill overlooking Wakefield (as it’s in Quebec I’m surprised the name hasn’t yet morphed into Le-Champ-De-Wake) is a destination hotel and spa in its own right. Its rooms display an impressive collection of Canadian art including some prints by Henri Masson. This also features in the conservatory where we had lunch as a group of 11 but the view from the picture window opposite over a river gorge and waterfall was even more compelling. The lunch menu is slightly confusing including items only served after 5.30pm with a list of appetisers and mains served until 3.30pm
after which the menu is reduced, but precisely how is not apparent. Apart from a green salad which lacked dressing and seasoning the mains impressed including roast lamb and swordfish specials of the day but especially seared bison tartare cut into little pieces scattered beneath a veritable forest of nuts, leaves, beetroot and sesame crispbreads. A pity some substantial plates of charcuterie and pickles came with rather than before the mains.
