点评:I’ve been coming to Mount St. Louis Moonstone since I was a kid. I loved it here and so now I bring my own kids. It used to be quieter and safer than Blue but I know that doesn’t bring in the money. Pre-Covid it was great especially since they were little and just starting out as preschoolers … people were courteous and I didn’t need to guard them by sandwiching them between my husband and myself to protect them from people speeding down the hill ( like some other Ontario resorts). Previous seasons, I would rate MSLM 5 stars hands-down because they really invest in state-of-the -art snowmaking and lifts. People are moved quickly and lines aren’t too terrible.
Recently, we’ve noticed a shift. People “reserve” tables and seating with bags. Chairs are for people not bags. With the 8-person lift over on the Moonstone side, people just can’t get it right. Can’t count, can’t organize themselves, it just isn’t working. They need someone ‘in’ the line to organize. Direct people. Whatever. I’m fine with some miscalculations. What really got me was this lady who came from behind and pushed her way through my kids. When I saw this I tried to hold her back and tell her that wasn’t acceptable. I pointed that the line was behind us. She KEPT pushing, then lifted her ski to get by and hit my friend’s kid in the back with her ski. Our kids are only 7. You don’t do that. No one stopped her. When she got through the gate, she kept pushing her way to the front. By the time we found an attendant, she was already boarding the lift. Unbelievable!
On the same day, a kid threw his pop bottle away on the top of the hill, chuckled and skied away. I took it back to him after chasing him down and he said that “everyone does that”. Well that wasn’t ok, littering is not ok. Told him to find a recycling/garbage can.
Same day, on our last run some teenagers decided that it would be ok to move the barriers to skip the line in front of us. There were a good 20 groups behind us on the Huter. My friends spoke up and reported them to the attendant there who then spoke with the teens.
While we love the hill, it is no longer the family-oriented place we once loved. The staff are wonderful, but the clients need to learn some common courtesy.
