点评:Our ski party used the half-board facilities at La Grange for our recent holiday.
This is the second time we have done this and our first experience a few years ago was fantastic. Meals and service were great and capped a very enjoyable holiday.
However, this time was not so good. The food quality and what is offered to "half-board" customers has taken a nose dive. Choice was limited and the quality of the dishes they did provide wasn't the best.
One evening we went off script and ordered (and paid for) meals from the normal a la carte menu and the difference was clear.
We were also squeezed into a corner of the restaurant and sat on the most uncomfortable bench seats going. Customers (half-board) were so tightly packed that people had to climb over each other just to leave the table. We tried to get moved, but apparently this was not possible and we had to remain in our designated area for the whole week.
"Normal" customers in general got a better quality seating as well as food.
Service was ok, but slow.
The restaurant gave the impression that it was trying to claw it's way back from covid and had crammed in as many customers as possible. This would be fine, but it created cramped conditions, meant the kitchen and bar areas could not cope with the amount of orders and resulted in a poor customer experience.
The time of year (school holidays) is also no excuse as both times we have visited have been during these exceptionally busy periods.
Such a shame as we had such a great time previously. If we return we won't be using La Grange.
