Café Au Beffroi的点评
点评：The man working there obviously doesn't like Brits / foreigners... or perhaps he's just rude & arrogant to everyone?
No-one acknowledged us when we arrived so I asked if we should take a seat at a table. The man eventually asked (from behind the bar) what we wanted to drink. No eye contact or smile and didn’t give us a chance to order any food. He was impatient with my French as could hear I was not French. We ordered a large coffee with milk and a demi beer. The drinks arrived fairly quickly although my beer was served in a litre glass and was short of the 25ml line so I felt short-changed. Again, the man gave us no eye contact, no smile and he left without giving us the opportunity to order some food.
It was obvious we wanted to order food as I asked the lady for 2 croques monsieurs but she said she didn't have any more so we looked at the menu and waited for someone to serve us. After about 5 mins, I asked the man if we could order something to which he said “J’arrive” and put his hand up to indicate for us not to disturb him.
We waited another 15 mins or so and decided to leave as didn’t want to give them our money, especially as a French couple arrived and their order was taken immediately. When we paid, I felt that it was pretty expensive for a coffee and a demi beer as we were charged over €7! I told the lady that we would have eaten but the man never came to serve us to which she replied “I asked him to”. My reply (in my head – I couldn’t be bothered to tell them directly): Tant pis… trop tard et on préfère de dépenser notre argent aux endroits plus sympa ou on a la bienvenue!
We went around the corner to a lovely boulangerie and ordered a delicious baguette full of tuna may for €4.20 so, although it wasn’t a very pleasant experience, going to that bar ended up saving us some money!
I hope lots of people read this revue and choose to go elsewhere instead too. Bonne année 😊

我们走到街角一家漂亮的面包店，点了一份美味的法棍面包，里面装满了金枪鱼，价格是 4.20 欧元。虽然这不是一次非常愉快的经历，但去那家酒吧最终为我们省了一些钱！
