点评:My family and I had dinner at Ray’s on 18 November 2023 around 17:15. We ordered a caramelised onion and Gorgonzola focaccia (a not too overly done as we always ordered) which was as always very delicious. Then we ordered x2 300g fillet steak, one medium to well done and the other fillet steak well done which was slightly pink inside, both with peppercorn sauce and chips. I ordered the Thai fish cakes which was also delicious. BUT your peppercorn sauce was too watery and not a thick creamy peppercorn sauce, maybe try and change your recipe and go to Tasha’s in Bedford and see what a peppercorn sauce should look and taste like. The food this time was done a bit on the slap dashy way and not much effort was put into the food. Please don’t go this route as you will lose old customers who enjoyed eating your food and they will simply move on to other restaurants.
The other thing is your veggies, please try and break away from the green beans and cabbage in all your dishes as not many people’s digestive system can handle so much green beans and cabbage and your sweet potato (or yams) as they call it in the USA. Please try and change to Asian style stir fry veggies, with julienne strips of carrots, baby marrow, baby spinach leaves, pok Choi, pine nuts or roasted almonds. It will definitely go better.
