点评:We visited Ciao in Kos with the hope of enjoying a pleasant meal, but unfortunately, our experience was far from welcoming due to how my partner's nut allergy was handled.
Upon being seated, we were promptly asked for our drinks order, and shortly after, we placed our food order: a pepperoni pizza and chicken penne. At this point, we informed the waiter of my partner’s nut allergy. To our surprise, we were told quite bluntly that the restaurant does not cater for nut allergies, and any risk of cross-contamination would be entirely at our own risk.
When we asked if the kitchen could at least be informed to take extra care, the waiter replied that the chefs would not take this into consideration and would continue to cook “as they prefer.” We were then advised to dine elsewhere — not out of genuine concern, but with a tone that came across as dismissive rather than empathetic.
The waiter later returned with the bill for our drinks and remarked, “It’s for your own good, better to be safe than sorry,” which felt patronising and unprofessional.
We understand that not every restaurant can guarantee an allergen-free kitchen, but the lack of sensitivity, unwillingness to accommodate, and dismissive attitude left us disappointed. For any guests with dietary needs or allergies, I would strongly advise caution before dining here
