点评：We dropped by for a sandwich lunch on a sunny day because my wife had seen the lakeside setting on the hotel's website, and it's handily located for the Chevein. The terrace overlooking the small lake surrounded by trees was pleasant, and no doubt even prettier when some of the plants in the water are in flower.
Unfortunately the rest felt pretty mediocre. The waiting staff seemed thin on the ground and a bit frazzled, as there were quite a few groups there (not many, though). The website said there are vegetarian and vegan options but apart from an option involving cheese, not a lot. When we asked, I was invited to suggest what I wanted! That way I ended up with a wrap with some hummus and a layer of unidentified greenery. The hummus was bland and I'm not sure what the green leaves were, while the wrap was unpleasantly soft. J's smoked salmon sandwich was undistinguished. Both were modestly sized and there was no accompanying salad or anything, which at £4.95 a throw meant they were probably 100% overpriced.
Obviously it's possible that everything else they do is much better, but I'm afraid after this poor showing we wouldn't give them another chance.
