点评:We arrived late to be greeted by a charming Vicente who owns this restaurant experience. He and his staff were welcoming and rightly proud of their local produce. He introduced us to a monovarietal olive oil that was delicious and a tempranillo wine from a new wine maker that was complex and astonishing (Valdepeñas has a reputation for mass-produced wine but this was very far from that reputation.) We were treated to an amuse bouche of a delicious sobrasada with almonds, which we followed with what Vicente described as the best steak tartar in the world and he was not wrong. We followed with tomato and alcochofa salad drizzled with the stunning hojiblanca olive oil and lamb cutlets served with smouldering sarmiento which gave the dish and indeed the whole restaurant the most appealing aroma of the countryside. The food was overall excellent! Vicente's passion for his products was refreshing and we will certainly revisit when we are next in Valdepeñas.
