点评:Having visited a few years ago when Alan was the chef we decided to visit again. The location is lovely and has a very cosy feel to it. However in sitting down and speaking to my husband a waiter, without even greeting us said “I guess I’m expected to do this in English”. How rude? The rest of the staff had better manners but really lacked training and finesse. We went with the 4 course wine pairing. We were given the wine name and which country it was from and then told “Yeah it’s a nice wine”, no explanation of flavours or why it was chosen. Please educate your staff on wine, it would really help! The food is presented well and tasty, however the liquorice jus on the duck gave a sharp aspartame taste which was overpowering. Some red berries would help counteract. The ambience in the restaurant was warm with a live pianist, the spacing between tables is perfect for noise control. Was it value for money? Not really a little overrated. On after paying we were left wondering around the lounge area trying to locate our coats. Again a missed opportunity to be asked if we had any and accompanied to get them. Having worked in silver service and some fine hotels I would say well trained staff can achieve the fine dining experience you wish your paying guests expect.
