I’ve visited this place many times over the years and have always appreciated the friendly and professional service. The staff are attentive and helpful, and the open kitchen adds a nice dynamic to the dining experience. The interior is modern and generally cozy, although cleanliness could be improved—stains on the chairs and a frequently dirty floor do take away from the overall impression.
Unfortunately, the food doesn’t live up to the potential of the setting. The regular menu is disappointing: it rarely changes, feels uninspired, and suffers from inconsistent execution. Some dishes show little regard for traditional recipes, which is frustrating.
• French fries – often undercooked and need to be fried longer.
• Caesar salad – has little in common with a true Caesar; misleading name.
• Roast beef salad – weak flavors, hard to identify listed ingredients.
• Crepes Suzette – mediocre.
• Thai menu – sounds interesting but is rarely available.
• On the positive side, duck dumplings are excellent and always satisfying.
While it’s one of the few spots open in the off-season, I still tend to choose other restaurants in the area due to the uneven food quality and options.
