点评：For context we only go to Junction 1 about 3-4 times a year as we live a 50 mile drive away, so it is more of a day out. We got parked & headed straight to Costa. My wife got the order. She brought the tray of drinks and food, I started to pour my tea and noticed the cup was dirty on the inside. I went up and asked a young lady for a clean cup, she went to where the cups were placed and her and another member of staff checked 3 cups before getting me a cup that was clean. So they were about to hand out more dirty cups to other customers. As I sat down my wife asked me what was up, I told her to which she said, when she was being served at the counter she was given a cup with a skin inside, basically a ring around the inside of the cup close to the top but this was noticed by a staff member and already replaced once while she waited on the order. Just before we were about to leave I had to go to the bathroom. I walked into the men's and first thing you see is a puddle of water at the door. It kind of goes downhill after that, I lifted the toilet seat and it almost fell off the toilet, the part that you press to flush is completely missing, there should be a silver/alloy panel about 5-6 inches square there is just 2 plastic buttons. I went to get some toilet roll as I was not about to touch these buttons, guess what the cover over the toilet roll holder was missing, so the roll can fall onto the floor at anytime.
Wait, for the icing on the cake. As we all know men's toilets 9.9 times out of 10 are not as clean as the ladies, nope Costa Junction 1. My wife then went to the toilets and had a couple of minutes to wait for the ladies' cubicle to be free, this facility is also supposed to be for baby changing. A young male staff member walked out of this toilet when the men's was vacant. Again she said there was used tissue and water on the floor. The tap over the sink was loose and turned when she tried to get it running. There was no toilet roll apart from a nearly-used roll lying on the dirty and wet floor. No soap available, only an empty soap bottle with the pump unscrewed and left in the actual sink. Let me say again, she said a staff member came out of here and left it that way for customers. When my wife came out of the toilet she said another lady was waiting. She warned her that the toilet was disgusting and she may be safer using the men's (little did she know.....). The lady said all she needed to do was wash her hands and my wife had to tell her there was no soap to even do that and said the lady did end up going into the men's toilet to do this.
Disappointed and disgusted, based on the state of both the toilets we'd be put off eating there again as staff mustn't care about general cleanliness. Management really need to look into the hygeine training and standards here.
