点评：OK - this is one of “those” restaurants. F1 driver posted from there the day before we went. Everyone arrives by boat or helicopter…. So it’s an interesting scene on some level.
The rooms are beautiful, the views are stunning because Cavallo is. The food is good, but of course it has to be at “price doesn’t matter” prices. Nothing was memorable, but it was all pretty and tasty.
The prices are c Eur30 for starters c Eur 70 for mains (going north of Eur 100 per head if you have fish) and a surprisingly cheap Eur 15 for deserts which were probably the best of the 3 courses. At those prices, I expect the perfect dream. And it doesn’t deliver that (hence my three stars). On arriving into the restaurant, you should think wow. Actually I saw bags of dirty linen waiting for collection (this is a basic hospitality rule which no restaurant should break). To pay bill, I had to go to the counter where a rather unfriendly lady takes the money whilst eating at the same time (this is unbelievably weird at this “level”). Music was either nothing or blasting. Staff were friendly and polished but I had to get their attention (with difficulty) too often.
Glad we went (we wanted to be in this area with our boat) and we had a pleasant lunch. But I don’t think it delivers what it could (or should for the prices).
