点评：I wrote my first review for Los Portillos in 2009; we may have been customers longer than that. The food has always been great, and it is one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. My wife and I haven’t gone in a while (so many new places to try) but returned to dine-in this week (we do a lot of takeout there). We ordered two favorite dishes: Costillas Carrillera Asadas (Pork Ribs) and Mojarra Frita (fried Tilapia). We’ve ordered these two dishes and more for years, but they were even better this time than we recalled! The first was seasoned and fried to perfection. My wife orders Mojarra Frita whenever she sees it on a menu, and we agreed this was the best rendition we’ve ever tried. Bravo Los Portillos chefs. The ribs are to die for, super moist, tender, and a really unusual seasoning. There were so many ribs that we took two home and heated them gently the next day, and they were as yummy as the day prior. This dish is served with “cowboy beans,” and I think they were better than we’ve ever had them here before. The food here is just outstanding. Try the goat stew (cabrito), the mole, the Taco’s al Pastor, or the Chiles en Nogada; all are outstanding. Yes, it is a huge menu, and yes, that’s often not a good sign at a restaurant, but Los Portillos always delivers great food and service. For the portion size and quality, the prices are truly affordable. If you are new to Santa Fe or visiting, do yourself the favor of tying this gem; you will not be disappointed.
