Superb service with well-balanced attention levels and knowledge/recommendations. Entrees menu short and sweet. We knew it was pricey and were not taken back by the $40+ offerings.
I had the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese as a starter. That's exactly what it was. A couple of tasty tomatoes and scoop of pimento cheese. I had hoped it would have been something more creative. My error. I should have researched more to properly set my expectations.
Nelson bourbon (neat @$28) was a treat and new discovery.
Vegetable "slurry-type" dish was spicey but not overly. Was disappointed it had hardly in corn polenta in the bottom. Would have been useful to lessen spice (pix attached of the cyclope looking dish). If you order I suggest you consider ordering some biscuits for the table too. I wanted to try a different type of dish that night and the veggie bowl was it. My choice. Not one I would do again.
Dining mate had the blackened snapper and was well pleased.
Finished off with coffee and some excellent Kentucky butter cake (I think that was its name). Mate had Churros and dip which were warm and light.
Ambiance and service a strong 5. My veggie choices pulled down the rating.
