We were a party of 7 on an afternoon when the restaurant had few customers. Our order was simple -- cold soup & half a sandwich, a bowl of simple pasta, a salad, etc. We waited... 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes.... a few other customers arrived, ate, paid and left. We stopped a passing server and asked, and they said the food was coming. We asked again. Again. No one came to check on us or inform us of the reason for the delay. Finally, when we'd been there a full hour, one of us got up and went into the kitchen -- where we were informed that they had run out of the cold soup and were trying to make more. Finally, our plates arrived but only for 5 of us. The other two had more of a wait. When we complained to the young waiter serving the last two plates, he essentially replied "Better luck next time." We asked to speak with the manager.
Meeting this moron explained it all. After telling us several times that he'd been in the restaurant business for 47 years (a true mystery), he was then rude and condescending, grilling each of us in turn on our opinion, without allowing anyone else to speak. It was not a conversation, it felt like an interrogation. In addition, he informed us that he'd been watching us on a monitor in his office. (Extremely creepy) At least it was clear where the bistro staff learned their behavior. A monstrous experience. Absolutely Avoid.
