点评:A friend and I chose to spend a day and a half here at Fiesta. We are both membership holders, so our admission and parking were taken care of. The first day we spent here was wonderful. The crowds were on the moderate side, and we got to ride most of the things we wanted to on the first day. We did not have to rush through the park because we were returning the next day. We had a meal in the park, which was decent. I have the meal plan, so that helps me to save some money along the way. Most ride ops were friendly. The park was very clean.
However, the next day was a different story. With the merging of Six Flags and Cedar Fair, many changes have been made, and not all for the good, either. Park hours here at Fiesta have been reduced for most days. I am okay with that as I would rather have a park open an hour or two less each day and still be around the following year to entertain guests. On this second day, we got there around 12:30 P.M. We slept in a bit on this particular morning but knew we had until around 7:00 to enjoy the park, or so we thought.
We got into the park and started making our trip around the park. Little did we know that management had decided to close on this day at 3:00 in the afternoon. There was nothing on their website about that when we arrived at the park, and I left my phone in the car as I did not want to lose it on one of the rides. So, sometime after we arrived, the decision was made to close early. There are some problems with how they handled this.

First, they should have made a public announcement that the park was closing early. They did not. If they do not have a way to announce things to guests in the entire park, workers should have been telling people. They were not.
Second, NO ride ops nor other workers were telling people the park was closing early except for ONE on the Road Runner Express mine ride. If we had not ridden this coaster, we never would have known about the early closure!! When we found out about the early closing, it was around 2:00. We did NOT have much time left. The next couple rides we rode made NO MENTION of the fact the park was closing early. So, anyone who did not ride the mine ride would not know of this. When 3:00 came, several guests were quite surprised and understandably angry at not knowing. Can you blame them??
On this particular day, the ride ops on some of the rides were a bit rude to the guests getting on and off the coasters. The ride crew on Chupacabra and the Boomerang coasters were the worst!! I worked at a park years ago, and even when I was having a bad day, I NEVER took it out on one of the guests at the park. This is unprofessional and uncalled for. I know working at a park with the public can be draining and irritating at times, but a person can make the decision NOT to act inappropriately.
I did stop in one of the very few restaurants which was open this day to grab some food using my meal plan. I planned to eat it in the car after we left. By the time we found an eatery that was open, it was getting close time the park was closing, and we were told they threw all the food out. The state I am from has parks that will stay past the "closing" time if there are customers in line. You usually make some money for the park that way. But not here. Oddly enough, Fiesta is now in the same family as my home park that stays open for business.
As a result of the early closing, any souvenirs we planned to purchase did not get purchased. I am not going to support a park that treats their guests this way. One family my friend and I talked to as we were leaving had driven over three hours to come to Fiesta. They were more than angry. I was going to stop by guest services to share my thoughts, but by the time I had left the park, there was a line of over 50 people letting management know their displeasure.
I did look at the website once I got back to the car and turned my phone on. The note said "closing at 3:00 due to inclement weather". That was a LIE!! It was not raining. There were no storms in the area. It was a sunny day. Truth is, the crowds were low. The park was losing money that day. Though I do get it that you do not want to take a loss when you have low crowds, but that should be expected for the middle of the week. The weekend is when most parks are crowded and make up for slower mid-week days. So, whenever I see a park in the new Cedar Fair-Six Flags merger that says "closed due to inclement weather", I immediately check the weather apps. Nine times out of ten, radar and the forecast show clear skies. So, it must be low attendance that day. I know.....who wants to say closed due to low attendance? It sounds better to say inclement weather. But that is untruthful.
I hope management sees this and takes it to heart. You have a beautiful park, but some of your decisions and dishonesty need to change. I will cherish the visit on Wednesday as I had a good time. Unfortunately, the visit on Thursday was sour, and that is what I will take with me.
