点评:Worst experience I have EVER had in a restaurant.
We had a 6:30 reservation on 20 July that we made 2 weeks ago for a party of 10. Confirmed earlier in the day.
Arrived at 6:20 – was told “they are getting your table ready.”
At 6:45 told that a “group came in at 4:00 and were told they had to be gone for the 6:30 reservation – but they are still at table.”
At 7:00 they push two 4-person table together and tell us it is just so we can sit down until the party from 4:00 leaves the table (we can see the other table is JUST getting their meals)
7:30 the manager tells us the party from 4:00 knew they had to be finished by 6:30 but waited too long at the bar before sitting down. They offer to let us eat at our current table (even though there is not enough room to even hold plates for 10 people.
7:45 we ask AGAIN if the party at the table knew they had to be finished by 6:30 and were emphatically told “Yes.” However, when we said, “If we ask they if they were told they had to be finished would they say the same thing we were told “we wish you wouldn’t interrupt THEIR dinner and ruin their experience.”
7:50 group from 4:00 is handed dessert menus
8:00 manager comes to table to apologize. Group from 4:00 getting their desserts. Manager is sticking to the “they were told they had to be finished” story. Has no response when we say "then why are they getting dessert menus 90 minutes after they KNEW they had to begone?"
8:15 – party from 4:00 is leaving. We ask them nicely if they were told someone else had that table at 6:30 and they are shocked – saying “no one told us anything.”
It's NOT that mistakes were made. The place was packed. Accidents happen. But don't try to place the blame on the people sitting at the table - own it, and people will understand - but LIE to me and get get caught, and it changes everything.
UPDATE: Night manager called and said all the problems were because of a "systematic error." So let's see what the "system" did:
1. The SYSTEM confirmed our reservation earlier in the day.
2. The SYSTEM told us our table was being prepared.
3. The SYSTEM told us the party at the table was tolf (also by the SYSTEM?) they had to be finished by 6:30.
4. The SYSTEM stuck to the story that the people at the table were told they had to be finished.
5. The SYSTEM told the people as they were leaving to say they were NOT told they had to be finished by 6:30.
Not buying it.
