点评：This is our third full summer in Europe, and our day of truffle hunting (and eating!) in Umbria at The Black Truffle Lodge may be everyone’s favorite experience to date. Up up up a gorgeous little mountain to a tiny village at the top to meet the family. Then off hunting in the picturesque woods with the charming Italian uncles and their delighted dogs. I thought I knew a lot about truffles, but this was an absolute education! They recently had a chef from French Laundry there to learn if that helps put it in perspective. 😏 Then off to visit the herd of sheep, shepherd and the coolest giant shepherd dogs that work as a team to defend the herd from the local wolves. Brunch is the dreamiest scrambled eggs prepared on a tailgate with Prosecco and layers of your freshly found truffles as well as homemade pecorino from the herd you are looking at. Then back to the village for prosciutto, wine, a pasta making lesson, then an amazing 3 course meal. Our kids ran around and played tag and hide and seek with the owner’s sweet kids. This is seriously the reason we came to Italy. If you can work it into your trip in any way- you should! My kids will remember this day their whole lives (unlike the colosseum, Vatican, etc).
