点评:My wife and I discovered this delightful restaurant while strolling along E. Cary Street from our hotel nearby.
The interior is small, perhaps eight tables, comfortably spaced, with windows looking out to Cary Street. The decor suggests fine dining, and our meal lived up to that expectation.
My wife, allergic to garlic, ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with the assurance that it would be freshly made without garlic. She also asked that the Scallop appetizer be served with it. The presentation of both was excellent, and the pasta was truly freshly made and garlic free. She was very pleased.
I don't often see braised lamb shank on a menu and I get it when I can. The shank was large, well cooked, and wonderfully sauced. It was accompanied with whipped potatoes and asparagus.
Both meals were more than enough, so not big eaters, we passed on dessert, but the selections were enticing.
There was a good selection of wines and beers. We both had a glass of wine, chardonnay for my wife and zinfandel for me. Both good.
The menu prices are surprisingly reasonable...the lamb shank was $28, the fettuccine was $17 and the scallops (3) were $16....a real value.
