Foodies'. How can you lose with a name like that? Well...
The appearance of the place is light and clean. But the seating is uncomfortable. Rigid back-cushioned seats line one side of a row of individual tables, with equally uncomfortable wooden chairs facing them. Our group asked for tables set together with better-spaced seating. Management said no, a card club comes every week. So we accepted the cramped seating arrangement.
Note: it was crowded the whole time we were there during the lunch hour. And guess what? No card group ever showed up.
We ordered our meals inidividually while we waited in line. When it was my turn I asked the cost of a drink I wanted. The (presumed) manager said impatiently, 'I don't know, whatever it says.' Hey, Mr. manager, I asked you for information. Your job is to cheerfully provide it. They were not busy or rushed. I hadn't seen a sign. Even if there was one and I had asked a stupid question, you seriously need training in customer relations.
I notice that self-service restaurants are increasingly using electronic tipping to pad the bill. I don't think so! I generously tip human servers at full-service restaurants. They often go above and beyond merely basic service. But I refuse to tip for the simple preparation of what is essentially fast food. That's where I draw the line.
So no tip. For whoever may read this: what do you think of tipping for assemblyline food at a place with no table service? Am I wrong?
My meal was a reuben sandwich (good), with fries (mediocre).
The meal was palatable; the service is deficient. Not worth it when there are so many other options where the overall experience is markedly better.
