点评:This is a gem of a museum. Please don’t walk around it on your own. To see the costumes (or to be correct suits) is amazing but to be shown round by a guide truly brings their stories alive. There are just two rooms which have an amazing array of work. If we’d done it on our own I think we would of spent no more than 45 minutes but the guide , Jeremy Stevenson (if I remember correctly) bought the stories to life with passion and an in depth personal knowledge. Indeed I was moved to tears by it. The relationship between runaway slaves and the native Indians who harboured them was the start of this amazing relationship which is paid homage to by the hand beading and wearing of these intricate suits. The work is hard to describe unless you see it for yourself. The museum also gives an insight into second liners, jazz funerals, baby dolls and the bounce culture
