We always strive to be understanding, recognizing that people might have off days, but this service was outrageous given the price point.
Our room lacked the luxury one might anticipate at a 4-star resort, it was akin to a midline Hyatt. It seemed the last renovation might've been during the flip phone era. Several issues that we would have normally overlooked came up during our stay, but were highlighted by our negative experience with staff:
• A faint, unpleasant, transient smell in the room.
• Bright hallway light seeping in under the door at night.
• The shower was just shy of lukewarm with weak water pressure in a chilly bathroom.
• The room temperature dropped significantly around 1 am, waking our infant – although it was set to heat at 73.
• Lackluster dinner options led us to use door dash.
However, a standout bellman provided exemplary service in the morning as we left, a silver lining in our experience. If only all staff mirrored his commitment, it would've transformed our stay.
The gap between our expectations and reality, especially for the cost, was hard to swallow. Considering the disparity, I'm contemplating suggesting to Amex Travel they reassess their endorsement of this hotel. For those considering a stay here, I'd recommend exploring other options.
