点评:On our quest to find good German restaurants, we are happy to have a winner. The darkish, woody room with friendly waitstaff made us feel comfortable.
We had to have the schweinshaxe , a pork knuckle with crispy skin and lots of meat. Parts were a little dry but most was tender and moist. Also we had a mixed “farmer’s” plate so we could try the sausages, smoked bacon, roast pork, and rippchen (smoked pork chop). All of these items were tender and flavorful. All the dishes come with juniper-infused sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. I especially liked both of these, even though I am not normally a big fan of sauerkraut or potatoes.
We don’t know why the well-known German wines were missing, but we did have a nice white table wine that paired well.
Prices were reasonable considering that we took home enough meat to have another German meal.
As per their name, the restaurant has a wide array of schnitzels, many sounding very good. That’s for next time if I can get away from schweinshaxe.
