House of Wax的点评
点评：First, this isn’t a destination bar exactly. It’s tucked onto the top floor of City Point Brooklyn, by the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
But it’s cool, creepy, morbid, and you probably won’t find anything else like it.
The drinks are dark and moody, but still light and refreshing. I particularly liked The Wolf (20% ABV). They also have a large beer selection and non-alcoholic cocktails. Various gin, vodka, whiskey cocktails with a large array of herbs and flavorful accompaniments.
The wax figures are the real reason to come here. Curated by Ryan Cohn, of Oddities fame, it’s full of bizarre, macabre, grotesque figures. Anatomical specimens, death masks, medical maladies. There is a warning at the door that some might find it disturbing.
It wasn’t crowded at all around 6 PM this Friday. The bartenders were attentive, efficient, and courteous. No food is served, but you’re near a huge food court, so eat before or after you come.
Again, not a destination, but worth at least one stop for fun drinks, horror movies, and a unique wax museum experience.
