点评：We have had Sisters on our list of places we wanted to try for many years. We finally got the chance for lunch recently while traveling through Savannah. Many food “critics” will put a place down just because it is a no frills establishment, but we have found they result in a delicious experience more times than their fancy counterparts. Sisters is such a place. Yes, the building isn’t much to look at; yes, your food will be served in a styrofoam container, and yes, you may end up sharing a community table with total strangers, but get over yourself because it is a culinary treat. You order at the counter as you look over the various items available that day. Meals are served by a friendly husband and wife team with a main, three sides, and cornbread. I had the fried chicken, tomatoes and okra, mac and cheese, and cabbage. Everything was tasty and satisfying. The only drawback would be the leg and thigh I received were pretty small, but fortunately my wife had leftovers which finished filling me up. My wife had ox tail, green beans, Lima beans, and sweet potatoes. The sides were stars on their own, but that ox tail, with the accompanying gravy, was to die for. It had the taste and luxuriousness of a short rib. We shared a delicious banana pudding for dessert. We each had sweet tea with our meals. In total the bill was just over $45.
On the way out the door, my wife told the woman behind the counter that “when she gets to heaven, those Lima beans were going to be on the table.”
