点评：If you’re anywhere near Northeast Florida, do not miss a visit to Shady Rest Alpacas. It’s one of those rare gems that feels like a breath of fresh air. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of Jacksonville off of Starratt road, this farm offers more than just adorable alpacas (though there are plenty of those!). It’s a full on experience that’s personal, welcoming, and totally unique.
Trina has poured her heart into this place, and it shows. She doesn’t just let you look at the animals from a distance, she welcomes you into their world. You get to learn their names, feed them, pet them, and hear all kinds of fun facts that’ll have you falling in love with every single one.
This isn’t some pop up operation trying to ride the alpaca trend, Shady Rest has been doing it right for years. Trina’s knowledge, warmth, and connection with the animals create a completely different kind of visit, one that’s peaceful, personal, and full of joy. You’re not rushed, you’re not herded like a group tour, and you can tell everything here is rooted in care, respect, and love for these animals.
The farm store is also a must, everything there is made from their own alpacas, and the quality is unreal.
They’ve got gifts and handmade goodies, but she also sells one of the most unique local items around: alpaca poop. It’s an all natural fertilizer perfect for plant lovers!
