Shady Rest Alpacas的点评
点评：We knew nothing about alpacas and this seemed like a novel opportunity to get up close to real alpacas and even learn something. We were not disappointed. Trina, the owner and guide was so friendly and welcoming and eager to share her knowledge and affection for these animals. She also works full time so the only available tours are afternoon and evening. That was not a problem except that we arrived just in time for an afternoon shower. Neither Trina nor the alpacas were daunted and we just held our visit inside. Trina started with us in the shop area where she explained about alpacas and how she got interested in them and told us what to expect when we met them. She then took us into the barn and gave us "treats" to feed the animals. The barn was spotlessly clean, even with the rain, and the animals were gentle and of course happy to see us and our treats. This is a family farm, not a typical "zoo" experience, and the cost of the visit provides for the animals which are clealy well loved and cared for. So if you are looking for something different to do, family friendly, and outside of the usual tourist attractions, Shady Rest Alpacas is well worth the trip.
