点评:Went to Ear Inn on September 29th 2024 with 5 guys, visiting from Canada. This place was recommended to us by Paul's Casablanca to have a few drinks and snacks until they got busy that night. The place wasn't very busy. We were seated in the back. Waiting for our server for at least 15 minutes. So my friend went to the bar to get us a round of drinks. Waited another 10 minutes to even get menu's. Once we ordered things finally started rolling. We had several servers checking on us and bringing out food and cocktails. We were there for a short time as we were headed to Paul's Casablanca. I got up to pay the entire bill as a treat to the group as they finished up their cocktails and I waited outside. I noticed the male server gesturing to our table and seemed disappointed. I came back to the restaurant and this server met me at the entrance with the bill and confronted me with, "WAS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SERVICE!" in a HARSH TONE! Without being too abrasive I advised him it was just OK (Meh!). He proceeded to tell me the STANDARD TIP was ~20-22% and was disgruntled about what I left him which was 15%. I feel like I am a reasonable person. I understand that times are tough out there. I understand that servers depend on their tips to compensate for their wage BUT the tip suggests my appreciation for the service given. If the restaurants standard is 20% or higher there should not be a "customize" or "other" button and I feel as a patron that I should have the ability to change it. Why should I give you 20% if you provide TERRIBLE service. If the food was horrible but you provided great service, my tip would reflect so. TIP Culture is changing and the "Expectation" for a decent tip for the lack of effort is brutal and it reflects poorly on the establishment. We will not be back!
