点评:My husband and I I went to eat at Tasca as we done many times before on November 3. When it came to order As we had done before we wanted to substitute the Yuca for tostones. Our waiter Rodrigo told that it could not be done. We explained that we have been there many times and not once they have stated “ There are no substitutions” I mentioned a specific waitress and they (Rodrigo and the owner) threw her under the bus! Rodrigo said he was not as friendly as the female waitress. He continued to argue with us!! We decided not to stay for diner.
The owner tried to convinced me that that is the policy of the restaurant. and defended Rodrigo. Not true! We have several men waiters that have complied with our substitutions without any hesitation.The owner insisted that the female waitress was told many times that there no substitutions. He wanted me to give him the name of a male server.(I guess he did not believe me) we would never asked for substitutions if they were accepted many times before. Even though the owner apologized, I did not feel it was a very sincere apology. There are hundreds of restaurants in NYC that treat customers with appreciation and respect!
