点评:So every 3 months we are in NYC for a week. Whenever we arrive, we check-in and then head straight for Crave. I am happy there because I can eat their gluten free calamari which is amazeballs. Hubby usually gets a couple dozen oysters and the fish tacos. Everything is always so on point but what a huge disappointment in front of friends whom we were treating to brunch. We arrive at 12:30 and get seated outside. Waiter takes the drinks order and we get the drinks 25 minutes later as our last guest arrives. At this point we have already put in our food orders. The waiter quickly takes her drink and food order (lobster roll and fries). 20 minutes later, when we are on our second drink, her food arrives...wait what? Our waiter came over and he seemed confused but my guess is he was hurting as he looked super hung over and he just did not bother to track our food. AND the restaurant was operating at 25% capacity if that.
Our food arrives, my calamari is awesome as usual, and hubby cannot believe how tasteless his oysters are. If you are going to serve oysters, at least have the red wine vinegar and shallots as another option for condiments. Hubby thinks the oysters were maybe washed as they had zero oyster taste, just bland.
But my real issue was the lobster roll and fries. My friend took 2 bites from the roll and pushed it away which surprised the table. She said it was awful as she could not taste anything????? Is this a theme here with their seafood? Every single person at that table tried the lobster roll and said they would have demanded their money back. We decided to say nothing and leave.
I am just so disappointed, and we will NOT be coming back. Why should patrons pay huge prices for awful quality.
