New Mui Kwai Chop Suey的点评
点评：Not sure what the other rater's deal is, but New Mui Kwai offers inexpensive, incredible and 100% authentic & absolutely delicious cantonese cuisine. Bar FAR the best in Kailua and probably anywhere on the island, until you get to the familiy's newest restaurant in Chinatown proper.
The management is friendly, down-right neighborly, in fact .. and the menu is expansive. Where many neophytes will go wrong in a legit place like New Mui Kwai is by not going deep in the menu and mistakenly ordering something familiar and mundane instead ... like "chop suey".

Get a clue and be adventurous, cuz if you can imagine it, they will cook it.
Bring in your own fresh fish, opakapaka, ono, mahi, whatever, and have the kitchen cook it up with black bean sauce on cake noodle or steamed with lup cheong.
Duck noodle soup with a side of char siu pork will broke da mouth oh get a plate full of honey wlanut shrimp and maybe steamed rice with beef tomato. Sour cabbage & pork, chicken & asperagus with black beans. Hard to make a bad choice, really.
The 5-star possibilities are endless, but if you're hung up on ambiance or scenery instead of the best Chinese food anywhere north of Beretania, just stay the hell away instead of down-grading this epicurean shangri-la. Leave it to the locals who flock for lunch, dinner and takeout 365 days a year!
